Material universe is an expression of universal consciousness of Supreme Being. It has taken about fourteen billions of years for creating lives on earth and then about 50 millions of years for elevating individual life at the level of human beings.
We have been, in the form of soul, expressing our lives in this physical plane of the universe for millions of years during the journey from a lowest quality of body like amoeba to the highest quality of human being in the series of reincarnations. Body is mortal but the soul is immortal. Body follows the laws of material world and soul follows the laws of spiritual world. Body takes birth, grows, degenerates and dies. Soul never dies or takes birth; it just exists, and changes bodies like we change cloths. Experiences, memories, karma and wisdom stay with the soul. Thus, information carried forward from earlier lives is imprinted in such a form that the brains of our reincarnated bodies are unable to unfold them. But, their effects appear in every new life.
The concept of self elevation is based on our belief of existence of soul and its immortality. Desire to be immortal is a natural instinct of the human being. We know that physical death is an absolute and inevitable truth. Therefore the desire to be immortal has been transformed into a wish of keeping our name alive even after death. This wish is a virtue and not the greed because the wish for living in people’s hearts after death motivates us to perform good actions during life. Perhaps that wish also inspires us to reproduce an inheritor so that our name linked with them can remain alive. Noble actions and reproduction of our beings are requirement of universe for developing the living world. Therefore, our belief in existence of soul and its immortality is in accordance with the universe’s plan.
The physical evolution of bodies on material plane is ongoing process of the universe. Body gets evolution while soul gets elevation. Bodily evolutions are as per the laws of biological science where as soul can be elevated as per the laws of spirituality.
Our soul has been provided the body and mind to make successful journey in this physical plane. Body performs worldly functions under the directives of mind and the mind is an acting form of soul, which is capable of creating all the requirements for living successful life in this world. Our each physical life is a stepping stone during the journey of our soul towards the glory of God.
Self elevation is a process of becoming aware of our soul and lifting it up towards the the final destination that is supreme consciousness of God.
